Opening MS. Donkor Cecilia (DFO) commenced the meeting with an opening prayer at 10:52 a.m.
Chairman’s Opening Remarks The Chairman welcomed all members to the meeting and informed the members that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss and review the 2024 composite budget.
Reading and Correction of Minutes of Previous Meeting The committee proceeded to read and correct the previous meeting’s minutes. After the review, the secretary moved for the acceptance of the minutes for discussion. This was seconded by Mr. Anikpi Samuel
BUSINESS OF THE DAY Discussion and review of 2024 Composite Budget The District Budget Analyst made a presentation on the revenue and expenditure actuals as at June 2024 in comparison with the annual estimates. The Internal Generated Funds (IGF) realised as at mid-year was ₵318,570.70 representing 40.33% of the annual projected amount of ₵789,993.00. The IGF Revenue was reviewed downward by ₵4,010.00. He added that the expenditure as at June 2024 was ₵362,394.57 representing 46.11% of the annual projected amount. The District Assembly Common Funds (DACF) expenditure as at June 2024 was ₵3,896,553.84 representing 47.17% of the annual projected expenditure of ₵8,260,490.78. The DACF has been reviewed upward with the amount of ₵4,244,370.37.
Discussions There was a discussion on how to collect revenue from the carpenters in the district using their associations or seizing their tools at the working site. Discussion ended with using Police officer to the field The strategy to be adopted is using Police Officers to the field for revenue collection. Mr. Attara Michael (Statistician) appealed for a budget line for the data collection in the district; It was also decided that all revenue generated on departmental bases must be stated or captured in the meeting/minutes for onward upload and assessment. It was also decided that; provision should be made for the fixing of CCTV camera to monitor the assembly building. And also the assembly should plan of solve water shortage within the premises.
DISCUSSION ON REVENUE DATABASE The MIS Officer informed the committee that the updating of the new database is ongoing. He appealed to the Assembly Members to team up with the Revenue Collectors and the Revenue Task force to collect data on new business entities to update the data base.
Closing In the absence of any further discussions, the chairman moved for the adjournment of the meeting and was seconded by Mr. Micheal Atara. Closing prayer was said by Mr. Bright Denutsui at 2:48pm.
