ONE DAY TRAINING ON STANDARD FIXED ASSETS REGISTER TEMPLATE AND FIXED ASSETS DATA COLLECTION FOR INCLUSION IN THE 2022 ANNUAL NATIONAL ACCOUNTS OF GHANA

As part of the processes of collecting and collating data from the various MDAs and MMDAs in the region, The Regional Directorate-CAGD, the Volta Regional Coordinating Council & the National Accounts Directorate (NAD) of CAGD has organized a one-day training session for selected officers of the Fixed Assets Coordinating Unit in the district on Thursday 12th January,2023 at South Dayi District Assembly  hall.

Officers from Afadzato District Assembly, South Dayi District Assembly, the Health Directorate (Teaching Hospital, District Hosp., Polyclinic, District Health Directorate), the Education Department (Tertiary, Regional Edu. Directorate, Secondary Sch., District Education Directorate), CHRAJ, NADMO, NCCE and other stakeholders with a stake in Fixed Assets attended the workshop.

In his welcome remarks the DCE of South Dayi District, Hon. Godwin Kwame Dadzawa emphasized the outlined principles of data entries into the fixed asset  register which is  to enable the government to accurately record and maintain both financial and non-financial information pertaining to each asset and to easily identify and verify an asset when required. He urged the participants to take the workshop seriously and wished them fruitful deliberation

The facilitator from CAGD (Head Quarters, National Account Directorate), Mr. Donne Ameworlor  led the group through an overview of fixed asset management  topics including accounting entries, de-recognition of NCA, disposals and transfers of fixed assets, distinctions between fixed assets schedule and fixed assets register, administration of fixed assets register, and fixed asset register’s use.

In order for participants to fully understand the principles of the topics covered, Miss Miriam Hamond, a facilitator from CAGD (Head Quarters National Account Directorate), also led them through practical sessions.

For the government to accurately record and maintain both financial and non-financial information pertaining to each asset and to quickly identify and verify an asset when necessary.

The  final remarks was given by Mr. Venunye Ahiator, The Director of Internal Audit for  South Dayi District Assembly thanked everyone for their commitment and participation in the learning process.

In drawing the curtains to the sessions, some participants shared their experiences and admitted that their expectations were met
