REGIONAL CHIEF DIRECTOR PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

As part of efforts by the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) to monitor, evaluate and coordinate  service delivery at the various MMDA’s in the Region. The Chief Director of the Council on the 24th June 2023 paid a day’s working visit to South Dayi District Assembly.

The purpose for the visit was also to interact with management and staff of South Dayi District Assembly.

The Volta Regional Chief Director (VRCD) Mr. Augustus K. Awity who was accompanied by the Volta Regional Human Resource Manager (VRHRM) Mr. Cyril Xatse were warmly welcomed by the District Chief Executive  and the District Coordinating Director.

Hon.  Godwin K. Dadzawa (SDDA, DCE) expressed his gratitude for the visit. He made the disclosure that early January 2023 it was during the working visit by the RCD to the District performance in general was not encouraging. However, going by the guidance and advice by the RCD, the Assembly performed creditably at the subsequent Monitoring Assessment and DPAT Assessment. He also informed VRCD and his team that he had a strong and united team and that this year’s Assessment would see the South Dayi District championing the Regional performance.

Mr. Augustus K. Awity (RCD) in his address commended Management and the entire staff for  their improved performance.

He mentioned that he was happy to see the Assembly actually improving since he visited  the Assembly earlier January 2023 to conduct Assessment for the 4th Qtr of 2022.

He took the opportunity to touch on issues  all RCD in Ghana discussed with Head of Local Government Service Ing Dr. Nana Ato Arthur  in Accra which he needed to bring to the attention of staff in the Assembly.

These were;

  • Lateness to work especially on Monday to Friday.
  • Leaking office information to the general public.
  • Issues of motivation before staffs is willing to work.
  • Sanctions to officers who fails in particular KPI during assessment.
  • Appraisal Preparation
  • Functionality of Sub-Structures the RCD urged the Assembly to ensure that all sub structures are functioning effectively in order to boost revenue.

He concluded that such unannounced visit will be happening especially on Mondays  and Fridays so all staffs should be warned.

The District Coordinating Director Mr. John Kennedy Cobbah thanked the team for their visit and promised to throw more light on issues mentioned above especially the Revenue Mobilization, Functioning of Sub Structures and to ensure that the welfare of staff in general was given equal attention.
