Site Handing Over and Kick-Off meeting of the Agenda 111 Hospital Project in South Dayi District

The South Dayi District Assembly on the 28th September, 2021 held a Kick-off meeting and Site  Handing Over with the Consultant and Contractors for the Agenda 111 Hospital project in the District Capital, Kpeve.

The project which is a national project is an agenda of the Nana Akufo Addo Government to construct a Government Priority Health Infrastructure in every District in the Country.

The South Dayi District therefore is privileged to be part of the agenda 111 Hospital project.

In his opening remark at the Kick-off meeting, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Nathaniel Adzotor welcomed all the  various Stakeholders and   also stated the aim of the meeting which is to discuss the agenda 111 hospital projects initiated by the President of the Republic of Ghana.

The Consultant for the agenda 111 Hospital project, Mr. Philip Nartey from Avangarde Design Services revealed that three (3) Contractors would be in charge of the  construction. The Contractors were Mr. Dror Tahar from EON (Lead), Mr. Kofi Aidoo from Isopanel and Muharam Company Limited.

The Consultant, Mr. Philip Nartey urged the Contractors to ensure they observe site safety protocols to minimise hazard on the site and also be mindful of the information they give out to the media on the project.

Mr. Philip Nartey said monthly technical/stakeholders meeting would be conducted to check progress of work

He petitioned the Assembly to collaborate with the Contractors and avoid being a distraction/ hindrance to the progress of the work.

During the open forum, the District Engineer, Mr. Samuel Dompre asked the Consultant the role of the Assembly to ensure success of the project and also the content of the site documents.

The District Budget Analyst, Mr. Patrick Mensah also asked what should be done  in case there is a litigation on the  land.

The Assistant Director II, Mr. Charles Boazor asked to know if the local/ community members would be engaged in labour.

The EON Engineering Services Contractor, Mr. Dror Tahar asked the Consultant about the payment procedure and terms.

 

In response to the questions, the Consultant petitioned the Assembly to provide the Contractors with accommodation, food, water and the necessary things that the Contractors would require on the site.

The Consultant also revealed that the site documents/plan is a full hospital and therefore has Nurses bungalow, Pharmacy, wards and many more.

With regards to the payment issue, the Consultant said they are making effort to fast track payment.

In his closing remark for the Kick-Off meeting, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Nathaniel Adzotor thanked all the various stakeholders present and also petitioned all to cooperate for the success of the project.

Present at the Kick-off meeting were the DCD, Mr. Nathaniel Adzotor, the EON Engineering Services Contractor,Mr Dror Tahar and his Staff, the Isopanel Contractor, Mr. Kofi Aidoo and his staff, Muharam Company Limited Contractor , the District Health Director, Ms Patience Nunoo, some heads of Department the Assembly and the Metro media.

During the Site Hand Over , the Consultant handed the Site document/plan to the representative of the Chief of Kpeve Traditional Area, Togbe Agbai ,  whom also handed  over to the DCD, Mr. Nathaniel Adzotor whom  finally handed over to the Lead Contractor, Mr. Dror Tahar of EON to commence work.

Togbe Agbai expressed gratitude to the President and the Consultant for the initiative and also pledged his support for the progress and success of the project.

He petitioned the Consultant and the Contractors to engage the community in terms of labour so as to create employment for the youth in the community.
