SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY (SDDA) HOLDS WORKS SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

The Works Sub-Committee on Wednesday 9th October, 2024 held its sub-committee meeting as mandated by the Local Governance Act 462 which mandates the Works Sub-Committee to take a comprehensive look at the infrastructure, water, roads, electricity, sanitation etc needs and problems of the district; draw a proposals and submits the programmes to the Executive Committee for harmonization and action.
 
At the meeting the convener of Works Sub-Committee Hon. Explo N.K. Nani welcomed all members to the meeting. It was followed by highlights of ;
i.Progress Report of District Works Department (DWD) and Physical Planning Dept(PPD)
ii. Presentation and discussion of 2025 Dept Annual Action Plan (DWD &PPD)
iii. Presentation and discussion of 2025 Dept Budget (DWD&PPD)
 
It was presented that ;
As at 2024 3rd Quarter South Dayi District Assembly undertook 6 developmental project in the district all funded by the District Assembly Common Funds(DACF)
1. Construction of Area council office at Tongor Tsanakpe – 60% complete
2. Construction of 2 unit Kindergarten classroom block with ancillary facility at Tongor Agordeke.- 50% complete
3. Rehabilitation of 6 unit classroom block at Agbateh – 30% complete
4. Construction of DCEs residency -40% complete
5. Construction of Astroturf Football pitch and 2no. 3-bedroom affordable house at Dzake – 40% complete
6. Construction of 40-lockable store at Kpeve Market – 10%
 
The Secretary, Ing. Samuel Dompreh, also briefed the house on the projects the Assembly will carry on in the 2025 physical year: renovating the meat shops in Dzemeni and Kpeve, finishing the 10-seater washroom at Kpeve Market, and building a single urinal at Dzemeni Market. Any projects left undone in 2024 will be carried over to the 2025 physical year.
 
Ing. Dompreh begged the committee to support the Assembly by means of Assembly members in adopting a method of generating funds through charitable organizations in order to maintain and refurbish the projects that the Assembly has already finished and turned over to them.
