STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT WITH KPEVE MARKET STORE OWNERS

Management of the South Dayi District Assembly on Tuesday 30th August 2023, the South Dayi District Assembly (SDDA)  met with market store owners at the South Dayi District Assembly Hall, Kpeve.

The meeting was organised for market men and women, driver unions, traders and all store owners operating in the Kpeve market to deliberate on challenges they were encountering in their business and to educate them on the following issues

  1. Business Operating Permit, Property rate and Temporal structures license fees
  2. Re-zoning of the Kpeve Market
  3. Payment of ground rent from 2014 till date 2023 were all matters discussed during the meeting .

The convenor of the meeting the District Coordinating Director (DCD) of SDDA Mr. John Kennedy Cobbah informed the gathering that the Assembly was ready to enter into a lease agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) for all store owners who have build their stores on government land (SDDA land) to serve  as a prove for future reference.

Opportunity was given to participants to ask question and to make recommendation on the issues discussed especially the Ground Rent and the re-zoning of the Kpeve market.

 

Mr. Cobbah (DCD) giving his closing remarks thanked the business men and women for honouring   the meeting, in spite of their busy schedules and urged them to continue to support the Assembly to carry out more developmental projects in the district especially at the Kpeve Market.
