VOLTA REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER MRS STELLA KUMEDZRO PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
On Monday 28th August 2023, The Volta Regional Environmental Health Officer (REHO) Mrs Stella Kumedzro and some selected officers of the Regional office paid a working visit to South Dayi District Assembly.
The purpose for the visit was to familiarize, address challenges and to provide a technical Backstopping to the Environment Health and Sanitation office in the district.
Mrs. Kumedzro expressed her gratitude for the warm reception. She took the opportunity to touch on issues that needed the attention of the staff.
These were;
1. Punctuality
2. Acceptance of posting to rural areas 3. Timely submission of reports (Monthly report by individual staffs, Quarterly report by the district and Yearly report submission by VRCC to Office of Head of Local Govt).
4. Educational Upgrade by staff
5. Lack of resources to carry out daily routine.
6. Monthly clean up exercises in various communities were all issues touched during the meeting.
Addressing the staff, Mrs. Stella Kumedzro urged all officers to be dedicated so as to leave a footprints in their communities by improving the hygiene situations in the district since cleanliness is next to godleness.
Some environmental staff shared vital issues facing their work such as;i.
i.absence of Vertinary officers at the Dzemeni slaughter house.
ii. Absence of Zoomlion officers at Dzemeni, Kpeve and Peki markets
iii. Identify Card for EHO
iv. Rampant increase on refuse, weeds and mud in our markets expecially Gbi Market, Kpeve and Dzemeni market
