2-day Next Generation Local Governance Leadership Training for Hon. Assembly Members

The training was organized by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Institute of Local Government Studies.

The program focused on; Decentralisation and local governance laws ,Corporate governance and oversight responsibilities, Representative functions of Assembly Members ,Deliberative functions and meeting procedures ,Making and enforcement of by-laws ,Executive mandates of MMDAs and discretionary powers, Leadership and community mobilization, Leadership Change-Making Project.

The modules were delivered in a granular and practical manner to enable Assembly Members to apply them directly in their electoral areas.

This initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen local governance, improve service delivery, and empower our Assembly Members to drive development in their electoral areas.

The Assembly appreciates the Ministry and ILGS for this timely capacity building exercise.
