South Dayi District Assembly Holds First Quarter DPCU Meeting for 2023

The District Planning Coordinating Unit (DPCU) of South Dayi District Assembly on Wednesday 8th February 2023 held its first meeting for the year at the District Assembly Hall. In fulfilment of Act 936 Section 85 (a) and (b) of Local Government Act 2016 that gives the core mandate of  DPCU to provide technical  advice to the District Assembly in respect of its planning, programming, monitoring, evaluating and coordinating functions and also the co-ordination of planning activities of the Departments of the District Assembly and the Sub-Committee.

The meeting witnessed the present of the District Coordinating Director, Development Sub-Committee and all Heads of Department and unit heads  in the District Assembly.

Mr. John Kennedy Cobbah the Chairman of the Committee welcomed all members present to the meeting. He added that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Performance Review of the District Assembly. He explained that the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) was the manual which guided the implementation of developmental programs and policies of the District and therefore, urged members to put up their best to come up with an implementable plan for a holistic development in the District.

 Mr. Silvanus Tettey, the District Planning Officer (DPO) took the gathering through the 21 indicators containing in the Medium and Long term Planning Manual for all heads of department to understand their core indicators when it comes to preparing a comprehensive report for submission to VRCC

He also updated the house on the L.I 2232 that speaks about submission of Annual Report every year which the position of South Dayi District Assembly is not encouraging. He urged all members in the Committee to give a detailed report  of the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) that speaks about the activities of the District and to submit them on time.

The District Co-ordinating Director commended all and sundry for their prompt response and contributions to towards the success of the meeting. He urged members tasked with assignments to do well to work hard and with a lot of urgency to meet all deadlines prearranged by the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).
