My first day at school: DCE surprises pupils

Hon Godwin Dadzawa (DCE) for South Dayi District on the 18th of January 2022, Tuesday visited three schools in the district, as part of the “My first Day at School” programme, instituted by the government.

The “my first day at school” visits allow officials to welcome fresh entrants of primary and kindergarten one to school and encourage them to attend school regularly, increase enrolment and strive to learn hard.

He was accompanied by the District  Coordinating Director  Mr Nathaniel Adzotor , District Director of Education  Mr Victor Kwaku Kovey, and other officers like Chief Iinspector of Schools ,HRMD, Head of Planning and the Public Relation Officer from South Dayi District Education office were present to welcome the new entrants to KG1  and Basic 1.

The DCE distributed items such as exercise books, crayons, pencils, erasers, drinks and biscuits to motivate and welcomed the fresh pupils to Kindergarten and Class One.

The DCE noted that the government had provided the needed environment for sound teaching and learning, and called on all stakeholders to complement the efforts of government, to ensure quality education for school children.

He mentioned some interventions as the Capitation Grant, School Feeding Programme, supply of text books and renovation of a number of dilapidated school blocks, under the Millennium Development Programme, as clear evidence of the government’s commitment to quality education, and said it behoved on all and sundry, to put in the maximum effort to help our children attain quality education.

The schools visited are Dzake E.P Primary A, B & C, Toh Kpalime D.A Primary School and Tongor Tsanakpe D.A Primary school.
