SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT HEALTH SERVICE INAUGURATE RISK COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL MOBILIZATION SUB COMMITTEE

The Risk Communication and Social Mobilization Committee (RCSMC) was officially launched by the District Health Directorate of the South Dayi District on July 12, 2023, at the District Assembly Hall in Kpeve.

At the meeting the convener of RCSM Committee, Mr. Kolog Timbire Jonas, who also serves as the District Director for Health service welcomed everyone present, expressed his gratitude for their presence emphasized the importance of the RCSM Committee’s role in processes and approaches to systematically consult, engage and commucating in addressing health-related issues in the District.

 He went on to lead the Committee  on the Anthrax Outbreak, HIV/AIDS, Pregnancy Deliveries, Teenage Pregnancy, Tuberculosis, COVID 19, Health Insurance, and other topics.

The Committee members recognized the progress made in a number of areas and suggested areas for improvement, including the requirement for Fulani herdsmen to be screened for anthrax disease, sex education at our various educational levels, the creation of an AIDS awareness campaign, the amount charged by health facilities in cases of child rape or defiling, an investigation into home deliveries, and a morbidity death investigation, among other things.

He also let the residents know that Kpeve Community Health Centre is currently getting services from the NHIS.

In his final remarks, the Committee Chairman thanked all of the participants for their thoughts, suggestions, and most importantly for their total cooperation throughout the lengthy discussion. Additionally, he stated that the Directorate should be notified of any health-related difficulties, and that further discussion and consideration will be held on the platform.
