SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS STAFF DURBAR

On Thursday 20th July 2023, the South Dayi District Assembly (SDDA) held its first staff durbar for the year 2023 to provide updates, solicit feedback and share information on the District achievements in the past years.

The ceremony began with an opening prayer from the District Works Engineer Mr. Samuel Dompre and opening remark from the District Chief Executive Hon. Godwin Kwame Dadzawa.

He expressed appreciation to all staff for their immense participation in the District Performance Assessment Test (DPAT) and Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) Monitoring, which saw the District placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the Region

His speech also centered on code of ethics, IGF performance, 2023 DPAT Assessment, and success chalked in 2022 Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) Monitoring  and DPAT Assessment.

He urged all staff to put up their best to improve the performance of the Assembly especially the Internally Generated Fund to be able carry more developmental projects in the District.

 

The District Coordinating Director Mr. John Kennedy Cobbah stating the main purpose of the gathering  informed the staff about a meeting that the Coordinating Directors and District Chief Executives in the Region held with the Chief Director at VRCC as follows;

  • Absenteeism and Lateness to work,
  • Indiscipline and insubordination,
  • Dress code,

 

  • Taking illicit drugs before or during working hours,
  • Audit infractions etc.

He added that the Chief Director will be paying a working visit to the District on Monday, July 24, 2023. He urged all staff to be present at 8:00am.

There was a presentation by Mr. Sylvanus Tettey ,The District Planning Officer updated his colleagues on the Assembly’s Assessment Performance as follows   

  1. 2nd Quarter PCA 2022 = 7th position
  2. 3rd Quarter VRCC Monitoring 2022 = 4th Position          
  • 4th Quarter VRCC Monitoring 2022 =2nd  Position          
  1. 1st Quarter VRCC Monitoring 2023 = 2nd  Position         
  2. Quality of MMDAS APR = 4th Position (83%)
  3. DPAT Assessment 2022 = 2nd Position in the Region.

He also focused on problems that caused the Assembly to lose marks in several assessments and ways to stop that from happening in 2023.

There was an open forum for staff to express their views and opinion on general issues. Staff expressed their views on attendance, promotion, Memo processing, Leave Roster.

The Convernor of the durbar Mr. Henry Yevu  The Human Resource Manager (SDDA) expressed his gratitude to all staff and wished them well in their  endeavors and ended the meeting with a closing prayer.
