Hon. Godwin Dadzawa Meets CWSA to improve Water System in South Dayi District.

On Wednesday, 4^th October 2023, Hon. Godwin Kwame Dadzawa (DCE) has received a delegation at his Office in South Dayi District Assembly from Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) led by Dr. Worlanyo Kwadjo Siabi the CEO of CWSA , Mr. Francis Tsywo  Engineer CWSA, Mr. Kofi Mensah Sebuabe Regional Director  CWSA- Regional Director , Volta Region from CWSA National Headquarter, Greater Accra to discuss ways of improving potable water system in the district.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss measures to improve portable water supply in the districts especially areas such as Toh- Kpalime, Tongor Kaira and its environs who had been lacking potable water supply for ages.

Dr. Worlanyo informed management that his engineers will be doing a follow up on design , technical report and provide the necessary documentation before the project will commence.

 He further urged the management to educate the citizenry on the need of protecting our water bodies and to desist from polluting our water bodies especially with  gallemsey activities along the Volta Lake since it possess  health risk to citizens.

He advised management to write formally to the Regional Director for the project to commence.

In his remarks, the  DCE. Of South Dayi District(SDD) Hon. Godwin Kwame Dadzawa pledged the readiness of the District Assembly to support to CWSA to make sure South Dayi District gets 100% portable water coverage.

Citing the challenges at  Tongor – Kaira and Toh- Kpalime people  are facing ”I thanked the team for their quick response to extending water to such areas we pray to God to give you a good health, your presence here has revive our consciousness ,as they say water is life we pray portable water will get to the end of every part of the district” he added.

Present at the meeting  was DCE Hon. Godwin Dadzawa, Hon. Obiri Samuel J.K (Assembly member for Toh- Kpalime), Mr. John Kennedy Cobbah (DCD), Mr. Charles Boazor (Dept. Dir), Mr. Fiattor  Venunye (Dir. I.A) , Mr. Samuel Domprey (DWE), Mr. Sylvestor Tettey (DPO), Mr. Asamoah Nkrumah (DBA), Mr. Michael Dorcoo (Water Unit) and Mr. Winfred Fianyo (MIS)..

The Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) by an Act of Parliament, Act 564 of 1998 is mandated to facilitate the provision of safe drinking water and related sanitation services to Rural Communities and Small Towns in Ghana. It also deals with hygiene promotion.
