SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY (SDDA) HOLDS WORKS SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING
On Tue 24th Oct 2023 SDDA held its Works Sub- Committee meeting at the Assembly Hall, Kpeve infulfillment of the Local Governance Act 462 that mandates the Works Sub-Committee to take a comprehensive look at the infrastructure, water, roads, electricity and sanitation problem in the district.; draw a proposals and submits the programmes to the Executive Committee (EXECO) for harmonization and action.
At the meeting the convener of Works Sub-Committee Hon. Eric Senanya welcomed all members to the meeting.
It was followed by;
i. Presentation of Dept. Report by the Secretary to the Sub- Committee Mr. Samuel Dompre The District Work Engineer and Mr. Ernest Bekai the Head of Physical Planning Dept (PPD)
Ii.Discussion of works / PPD Action Plan
iii. Discussion of works / PPD 2024 budget
The committee further discussed issues concerning Safe and portable Drinking water in the District expecially to the people of Tongor Kaira, Tsanakpe, Dzemeni and it’s environs, wrong and overbilling by ECG, Ten seater W/C project ongoing by CODA at Kpeve, Local plan around Agenda 111 hospital, maintenance of selected feeder roads 15km, Provision and installation of 150 No. street light, Dzemeni flooding, development control strategies and permit processing.
The committee concluded on the following recommendations to EXECO;
1. All ongoing project should be considered for the 2024 composite budget before any new project.
2. The managers of ECG, GWCL and Safe Water Network should be summon to the General Assembly (G.A) meeting to answer on their operation in the district since they always fail to attend our Sub-Committee meeting.
3. The ten-seater w/c project ongoing by CODA at the Kpeve market should be taken over and completed by the Assembly.
The Chairman in his closing remarks mentioned that all recommendations made by the Sub-Committee will be carried on to the EXECO for further approval at the G.A.
