Five communities in South Dayi District namely Peki Tsame, Peki Wudome, Kiara Ahor, and Dzemeni East and West have been severely affected by a two-hour rainstorm.
The situation which happened on Thursday, March 14, 2024, has left a lot of people without a place to live because the building’s timber and roofing sheets were taken away to other homes at various hours, doing damage on their properties.
The downpour that followed the strong storm caused numerous structures to be completely destroyed or partially destroyed.
Although the extent of the damage is still unknown, National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) is doing assessments and data gathering to help determine the amount lost by disaster victims and help in their search for relief assistance.
