HON. M.P. FOR SOUTH DAYI HONOURED HEALTH WORKERS FOR HARD WORK
The M.P. for South Dayi, Hon. Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor showed appreciation for hardwork by sponsoring award packages for seven (7) deserving staff of the District Health Directorate in the South Dayi District.
The award was to appreciate the health workers for their devotion and tenacious rendition of assigned duties especially during the COVID-19 and spillage of the Akosombo and Kpong dams that led to flooding in the Tongo and challenges for year 2023 and the way forward for 2024.
The M.P gave the assurance that the award would be an annual scheme for hardworking staff across board in the district. That aside the MP gave the assurance that his office was attending to some other teething problems confronting effective health delivery in the District paramount among them was the construction of a District Health Directorate office which is about 60% complete.
In addition, he catalogued the following projects which he said would soon be delivered.
a) Each Health Centre to receive one (1) gas cylinder with respiratory gadgets.
b) Completion of Peki Hospital Accident Centre
c) Complimentary effort towards early completion of Agenda 111 project
d) Provison of hospital beds to selected health centres
The Hon. MP was supported by two of his colleaques namely MP for Navrongo Central Hon. Sampson Tangombu and MP for Tsiana Paga Hon. Thomas Adda Dalu
The award ceremony coincided with the Annual Performance Review meeting by the District Health Directorate held on 9th February 2024 at SDD Assembly Hall ,Kpeve to assess and review the achievement
The awards was given in three categories
Category 1 award was given to 121 health staff who were recognise for fight against COVID -19. They were presented with certificates of Honour for several roles played across all facilities in the district.
Category 2 was Best Health facility Award. The Best Health Centre was given to Tsanakpe Health Centre and the Best CHPS Compound was given to Abui – Tsita CHPS for 2023.
Category 3 South Dayi MP’s Special Awards 2023 Maiden Award for Health workers in the District. Each Contestant received a certificate and a cash of GHC1,000

A Community Health Nurse (CHN) of Kpeve Newtown Health Centre, affectionately called “FIELD MARSHAL” for his outstanding performance in field work and outreach activities including home visits, outreach child welfare clinics, mass vaccinations, and social mobilization, among others.
⦁ DR. DANIEL OKYERE KORANTENG
A Medical Superintendent of Peki Government Hospital, for his exceptional leadership and outstanding performance in critical service delivery in the district. His prudent financial management has distinguished his hospital in the Volta Region as one of the few facilities that is not heavily indebted to the regional medical stores.
⦁ ISHMAEL SEKE
A community health nurse (CHN) of Dzake Health Centre, for his exceptional dedication to child health services and commitment to proper documentation of health service data.
⦁ EMMANUEL KLENAM ADOMINA
A Registered Community Nurse (RCN) of Wegbe Health Centre, for his special interest in all aspects of health service delivery at your facility and district level.
⦁ LYDIA ENYONAM AGBITOR
A Midwife Of Tsanakpe Health Centre, for his exceptional dedication towards maternal health service delivery in the district. His outstanding leadership has resulted in increased skilled delivery over the years, which remarkably contributes to the performance of the district.
⦁ IRIS KONADU DZUVOR
A Field Technician of Tsanakpe Health Centre, for her significant contribution to the expanded program on immunization (epi), disease surveillance and mass vaccination activities in your sub-district.
All the awardees for this category received a Citation and a Cash Award of One Thousand Ghana Cedis each from the Member of Parliament.
