SDDA HOLDS DEVELOPMENT PLANNING SUB-COMMITTEE (DPSC) MEETING
In fulfilment of the Local Govt Act 936 section 85, the DPSC of South Dayi District Assembly held its meeting on 25th Oct. 2023 at the District Assembly Hall.
The Chrm. for DPSC Hon.Timothy Kotope welcomed all members to the meeting. He then took member through the previous meeting which was accepted as a working document.
The Secretary to DPSC Mr. Sylvanus Tettey (DPO) presented the Draft for Annual Action Plan for 2024 which covered;
i. Economic Development- Public education on mass rabbies, Sensitization in 12 steps maize production, climate smart agriculture, introduce coping strategies for women farmers in the district.
ii. Education – Sensitisation on importance of Education for girl child, Support District Level Inter Circuit Sportsn etc.
iii. Health – Support to 3 health facilities with bed infrastructure, organise training on nutrition, Control on HIV/AIDS, organise quarterly Public Health Emergency
iv. Social Services – Engage communities on Child labor, Training Social services providers on the ISSOP, Support children in conflict with the law, rescue abandoned or missing children
v. Trade and Industrial Devpt- stakeholders engagement forum with MSE, equip youth with technical and vocational skills, facilitate and support micro, small and medium scale enterprisen etc.
vi. Infrastructure – Reshaping of 15km roads District Wide and construction of culverts on selected roads in the district, Complete
Drilling and Construction of 5 No. Mechanised Boreholes and organize WATSAN for newly constructed Boreholes, Renovation of 6-unit classroom block at Agbateh, Construction of 4No Teachers Quarters at Peki Dzake, Construction of 1no 2-Unit KG block at Agordeke
The sub-committee also discussed issues concerning ex-gratia for Assembly Members, Youth in Agric, Local plans, development controls , flooding at Dzemini and completing of abandoned projects in the district.
