SDDA HOLDS FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

On Thursday 25th October 2023, South Dayi District Assembly (SDDA) held  Finance & Administration sub Committee meeting  to discuss the Draft 2024 Composite Budget and Fee Fixing Resolution of the district.

The Chairman for the Finance and Administration Hon. Sebastien Okyere welcomed all members of the sub-committee to the meeting. He then took member through the previous meeting which was accepted as a working document for the sub-committee after further corrections, deliberations and discussions.

The Secretary to the Finance and Administrative sub Committee Mr. Emmanuel Asamoah Nkrumah presented The Composite Budget for 2024 as follows;

Revenue Performance for all revenue source at the end of the month of August stood at GHC 4,203,513.27 out of the annual budgeted amount of GHC 9,600,317.63 representing 43.78 %. The Internal Generated Fund stood at GHC 291.573.00 out of the annual budgeted amount of GHC 646,389 representing 45% . The top 3 highest performing revenue items were Rent GHC29,053(114%)  Land  GHC38, 050 (58%) Fees (51.54 %), Fines GHC 3,845.00 (30%) Licenses GHC 36,242.00 (29.84%).W

Expenditure Performance (All Department) all funding Sources- Budget 2023- GHC 9,600,371.63, Actual as at 2023 Aug,  GHC 4,528, 715.05 representing 47.17% amount of GHC 9,600,317.63.

The 2023 Key projects and programmes from all funding sources include;

  1. Child Right Promotion and Protection
  2. Construction of Area Council Office at Tongor Tsanakpe

iii. Rehabilitation of 6Unit Classroom Block  at Agbateh

  1. Social Intervention Programmes
  2. Completion of 2Unit KG Block at Agordeke
  3. Renovation of DCD”s Bungalow

Mr. Nkrumah stress on the need of the Assembly to develop a Strategic Revenue Improvement Action Plan to raise more revenue to support the budget to be able to take more developmental  project since the Assembly is running a defict budget.

The chairman, in his closing remarks, expressed his gratitude to all members and staff for attending the meeting and mentioned that all recommendations made by members would be carried on to the Executive Committee for further approval at the General Assembly.
