SDDA HOLDS THE SECOND ORDINARY MEETING OF THE FOURTH SESSION OF THE FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY

South Dayi District Assembly (SDDA) held the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Fifth General Assembly on Fri 3^rd Nov 2023 in the District Assembly Hall, Kpeve.

The Presiding Member (PM) for the assembly; Hon. Kafui Dzomeku, called the house to order and  gave his opening address.

The DCE for SDD Hon. Godwin K. Dadzawa delivered his sessional address to the house in accordance with Section 28 (2)(a) of the Local Govt. Act 2016 (Act 936). He centred his address on public education on floods, provision of relief items to the victims of the floods by NADMO, Payment of Ex-gratia to the Current Assembly Members, expanding water coverage in the district, Screening of food vendors in the district  and to set up a district examination Board committee.

The House summoned the heads of the utility providers specifically the District Manager of Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the District Manager of Ghana Water Company (GWC) to brief the House on the wrongful overbilling of its customers in the District.

The regional PRO of ECG pleaded to the house that ECG is doing everything within its power to solve the overbilling situation. He also informed the house that the ECG’s team will be doing mass meter reading exercise from Mon, 6^th Nov 2023 to normalise the situation.

The August house further discussed the  EXECO Committee report, PRCC report, Substructure report and Discussion of 2022 Auditor General’s Report

The District Budget Analyst Mr. Emmanuel Nkrumah presented the Draft for 2023; Draft Composite Budget, Draft Annual Action Plan and Fee fixing Resolution to the house which was unanimously accepted by the house.

The Hon. Domeku (PM) in his closing remarks, expressed his gratitude to all members for making it through the meeting.
