SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING

To evaluate the 2025 Budget’s mid-year performance, the South Dayi District Assembly’s Budget Committee met on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
The committee chairman, Mr. John Kennedy Cobbah, gave an opening prayer to kick off the meeting. He asked participants to share their opinions and suggestions during the day’s conversations.
 
Mr. Winfred Fianyo, the MIS Officer, gave a presentation on the data collection progress on business operating permits that is presently underway throughout the district. Mr. Asamoah Nkrumah, the District Budget Analyst, presented the 2025 Composite Budget, which comprises the Internal Generated Fund (IGF), the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), expenditures, and financial performance.
 
As of June 2025, GHC 323,224 had been collected as Internally Generated Fund (IGF) during the half-year, which is 42% of the GHC 774,259.00 budgeted amount for 2025. The Assembly also spent on expenditure items such as allowances, materials and consumables, utilities, general cleaning, travel and transport, repairs and maintenance, training and other special services to the tune of GHC 331,266.86
In addition, the committee deliberated on ways to enhance the collection of specific revenue items, particularly the property rate and business operating permit.
 
The committee’s chairman thanked each and every member for their tremendous input and opinions on the budget development. According to DACF guidelines, he said, a series of meetings would be held to help ensure that all projects under the DACF were carried out strictly. He advised all members to prepare for these meetings.
