SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT OBSERVES NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING

As the nation bows its head in prayer today, it also lifts its eyes toward a future built on unity, purpose and grace .On Tuesday, July 1, 2025 South Dayi District joined the rest of the nation to observe the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving under the theme, “Reflect, Reset and Renewal for National Prosperity.
 
The event which was held in Kpeve , Peki and Dzemeni simultaneously was held in two separate but spiritually significant sessions for both Muslims and Christians, reflecting the country’s rich religious diversity and commitment to interfaith harmony.
 
The Muslim session was held at the Central Mosque in Kpeve, where the atmosphere was solemn yet hopeful. The District Chief Imam led the congregation in special prayers, calling on Allah to continue blessing Ghana with peace, stability, and development. He emphasized the need for National unity, forgiveness, and a collective commitment to the country’s well-being. The gathering also prayed for the leadership of the country and for all public servants.
 
Later in the day, the Christian session was held at E.P Church Chapel also in Kpeve Newtown. The Head Pastor of E.P Church led the prayer service followed up by the Head Pastor of Assemblies of God, Global Evangelical, Church of Pentecost lifting up the nation before God and asking for divine wisdom for its leaders. They also prayed for national peace, economic recovery, and spiritual renewal.
 
Delivering the keynote address, the District Chief Executive of South Dayi District Hon. Courage Kokoroko, called on citizens to move beyond prayer and translate thanksgiving into purposeful action. He emphasized unity, peace and good governance as the cornerstones of national prosperity.
 
The gathering was marked by vibrant worship, intercessory prayers, and a strong sense of patriotism.
