PESCO SHS holds Founders’, Speech and Prize-giving Day

The Peki Senior High School in Peki in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region on Saturday 13^th February 2023 held its Founders, Speech and Prize-giving Day commemoration

The District Director of Education in South Dayi District Directorate Mr. Victor Kovie in the Volta Region, has underscored the need for teachers, parents and students to play their respective roles in ensuring quality education in Senior High School since it is a tripartite phenomenon which involves them.

Anniversary

Speaking on the Theme “Quality Education for Senior High School a shared responsibility”.

He said it was unfortunate that some parents has ignored their total responsibility to only government.

But to achieve quality education, all stakeholders both PTA, School management, Community involvement , Old Student Association, Government and students must all play their respective role in ensuring The Free Senior High School policy to be a successful one.

Population

The school currently has a student population of 2,354, comprising 689 boys and 824 girls, with 85 teaching staffs, 40 non-teaching staffs and permanent 20 staffs.

*Academic Achievement*

The WASCE Result for the year 2022 of 417 students was 99.8% qualitatively and quantitatively.

The South Dayi District Chief Executive, Hon. Godwin Kwame Dadzawa was present with the Presiding Member of The South Dayi District Assembly.

He spoke on the efforts of government to promote quality Education in the 21st century.

He promised the school a Modern Toilet facility which will be put up soon with grounded and also inform the gathering that he is working around the clock on issues of transport for the school.

 In his speech noted that 65 years of providing quality secondary education to the youth, could only be achieved with a disciplined and dedicated staff and students

Prizes were presented to deserving students and staff (both teaching and non-teaching), as well as some individuals who had contributed immensely to the development of the school.
