A Game-Changer for Dental Care in Peki

The Dental Unit of Peki Government Hospital has received a major boost with the donation of a brand-new ultra-modern dental chair, the only one of its kind in the Volta Region.

This generous gift was made possible thanks to Mr. Sunu, who received outstanding care from the Unit a few months ago after struggling to find help at several facilities in Accra. Moved by the professionalism of the staff, despite the outdated equipment, he reached out to the Peki Union of North America, where he is a member.

The Union, led by President Mr. Michael Dzandza, responded with kindness and speed, delivering a chair that will transform dental services in the area.

Dr. Koranteng, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, expressed deep gratitude to the Union, noting that nearly half of all dental cases had to be referred out due to the lack of proper equipment. With this new chair, the hospital can now handle far more cases in-house.

He also appealed to the Union to consider adopting the Dental Unit- a request Mr. Dzandza warmly accepted.

The Head of the Unit couldn’t hide their excitement, sharing that this is currently the only dental chair of its kind in the entire region.

Hon. Mark Dzebu, Assemblyman for Tsame Electoral Area, also thanked the donors and encouraged the hospital to maintain the equipment well so it can serve the community for years to come.
