The South Dayi District Chief Executive, Mr. Kafui Bekui has lauded government for the efforts initiated so far in trying to eliminate schools under trees in the country
The project been
sponsored through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund) has selected 10
schools in the South Dayi District to benefit from 6 and 3-unit classroom
blocks.
The DCE indicated that 6-unit classroom blocks at Kpeve, Kpalime Duga and
Adzebui are at various levels of completion while a 3-unit block at
Dzemeni is at the roofing level.
Others which have been awarded on contract but work is yet to commence include
Wegbe Kpalime, Kpeve E.P Primary, Dzemeni E.P ‘B’, Peki Demonstration, Peki
Blengo E.P and Tsate Presby Primary.
He said the completion of these projects would tremendously improve educational infrastructure unless new schools are built.
He noted that the flood which affected parts of the district recently has stalled work on some of the projects but was optimistic of smooth progress of work as soon as the flood subsides.
In a related development, the assembly has supplied the Kpeve and Tsanakpe Senior High Shools with furniture.
On sponsorship, he said seven students are on scholarship at the tertiary and second cycles of education.
