SOUTH DAYI DISTRICT ASSEMBLY CONDUCTS 2022-2025 DMTDP COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT

The National Development Planning System Regulation 2016 (LI 2232), the fifteenth schedule, requires that a draft of the successor Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) of MMDAs is prepared. The objective is to ensure that the plans are adequately linked to the budget preparation cycle for implementation in 2022.

In view of this,  the South Dayi District Assembly as part of her mandate to ensure a bottom approach to development and to get citizens involved in programs and activities in the District rolled –out a series of public hearings to conduct community needs assessments of all electoral areas for the 2022-2025 District Medium Term Development Plan.

The exercise began on Tuesday April 27, 2021 with two electoral areas namely: Todome and Tsatee and scheduled to finish by 10th May, 2021 holding all other things constant.

The engagement with the first two electoral areas was quite interactive as representatives of the various unit committees were present, Traditional rulers, Herdsmen, Opinion Leaders and noble group or associations relevant to the development of the various electoral areas were represented. On the other hand the technical support team for the plan preparation represented the Assembly for the engagement. Tools such as the pairwise ranking were used to prioritize the needs of the people.
