The District Chief Executive for the South Dayi District, Kafui Semenu Bekui has admitted that a number of communities in the district have been faced with difficulty in accessing potable water and that the people have high hope government bringing the situation to an end

He said government has also taken keen interest in the issue and has been exploring various options in addressing the situation.

According to him, government is currently dependent on two options which are extension of pipe lines to some communities while also drilling boreholes in places which are suitable for it.

He disclosed that pipe lines are being extended from Tsibu Bethel through Kpalime Duga, Dzemeni  to Tsanakpe and its environs under the Community Water and Sanitation Programme. When this is completed these communities would see significant improvement in water delivery he stated.

Aside this development, platforms have been completed for six boreholes at Wegbe Camp, Peki Old and New Towns, Adzokoe, Tsate, Tsokpokope,kpeve Senior High School and kpeve Assembly.

Soon, the stand pipes would be installed to get it ready for use by the respective communities. He pledges that the assembly will continue to carry out more of such programmes with the help of development partners to improve water delivery in the communities.
